Position Summary:

Responsible for assisting Purchasing management and staff in the successful performance of their duties by performing necessary clerical and administrative support functions required to ensure the efficient operations of the department. Interfaces with Director, Purchasing, management, buyers, brokers, vendors, Information Technology personnel, customers, and has limited contact with other distributors. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Position Responsibilities:

• Create presentations, reports, forms, and spreadsheets as requested by management demonstrating intermediate to advanced computer skills.
• Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through on issues in a timely manner.
• Perform assigned duties efficiently to reduce spoilage and contribute positively to profit margin; works closely with the cooler Receiving Department on perishable item quality and inventory.
• Check quality of produce and ensure poor quality product is removed before customers purchase; ensuring proper rotation and quality of product on a daily basis.
• Break/repack full cases in a timely and efficient manner to reduce spoilage and lost inventory.
• Check for dating issues on a daily basis. Remove any short dated and/or product that does not meet quality expectations from inventory.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts.
• Special projects, as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience

6-12 months procurement and / or administrative experience in related area

6-12 months foodservice / warehouse experience

Preferred Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience

1-2 years procurement administrative experience in related area within foodservice industry

1-2 years produce/perishable food experience in warehouse setting
