Job Description

Salary: $64,000

The Esperanza Center is a comprehensive resource center whose mission is to welcome immigrants by offering hope, compassionate services, and the power to improve their lives. Since 1963, immigrants from all over the world have trusted the Esperanza Center to help them navigate life in a new country. Our dedicated staff and volunteers provide services related to education, healthcare, immigration legal matters, family reunification, anti-trafficking, and general community support to thousands of immigrants each year.

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is currently seeking a Program Manager-Client Services who is responsible for supervision and management of the human services programming at the Esperanza Center. Manages multiple grants for funding, setting and maintaining budgets, and overall management for programs. The regular work schedule is Monday-Friday (in-person), 8:30am-4:30pm (37.5 hours per week). Some flexibility may be required to participate in or support community events.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees the program budget, including planning, preparation, and ongoing management of revenues and expenses. Ensures timely and accurate preparation of grant reports and monitor financial performance to meet fiscal goals.
  • Provides direct supervision of program staff, interns and volunteers. Accountable for hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, evaluating performance, and ensuring staff development to meet program needs and organizational goals. .
  • Collaborates with the management team to develop and implement strategic plans that ensures program sustainability, growth, and continous improvement of program services
  • Leads the planning, coordination, and execution of client workshops, including collaboration with partner organizations, preparing grant reports, in-service training, and managing data input for related services.
  • Oversees data collection and reporting for all grant and other funding sources, ensuring accurate and timely submission in compliance with grant requirements and organizational standards.
  • Serves as primary point of contact for community partners and with grant funders, managing relationships to enhance program support, secure funding, and ensures alignment with program goals.
  • Fosters a positive organizational culture, promoting staff morale, engagement, and alignment with the program's mission and vision. Ensures staff understand and are committed to the program's goals.
  • Actively participates as a member of the management team, attending weekly meetings, contributing to strategic planning efforts, assisting with events, conducting outreach, and representing the organization at external meetings and events.
  • Provides operational management and oversight to the program office space, including maintaining appropriate supply inventory.
  • Establishes shared procedures for use and maintenance of physical office spaces including bathrooms, kitchen, and all other shared spaces.
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 5 years experience in human services and 3 years of progressive project management experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

REQUIREMENTS & ABILITIES:

  • Proficient in English and Spanish, with advanced skills in reading, writing, and speaking at a professional level, and be culturally focused to work with clients from diverse Latino/Hispanic and other immigrant backgrounds.
  • Demonstrates strong supervisory abilities, providing clear direction and guidance to staff while maintaining a calm and composed demeanor in stressful or high-pressure situations. Effectively manage team dynamics and resolve conflicts, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of case management practices and crisis intervention strategies to support individuals in need. Provide timely, effective solutions while ensuring high standards of service.
  • Utilizes exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, staff, and stakeholders, ensuring clarity and understanding in all exchanges. Approach all client and customer concerns with a service-oriented mindset, addressing and resolving issues in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Maintains a high level of discretion, tact, and professionalism in all situations, particularly when dealing with sensitive or confidential information, ensuring trust and respect within the team and with clients.
  • Possesses exceptional planning and organizational skills, effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines while ensuring that all activities are aligned with program goals.
  • Leverages strong problem-solving abilities to identify issues, analyze potential solutions, and implement effective strategies. Prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities as needed, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Use effective conflict resolution techniques to address and resolve disputes or challenges that may arise, ensuring that all parties involved feel heard and that solutions are equitable and constructive.
  • Requires proficiency in using computer systems and software to perform job function, including but not limited to, basic Windows PC, web browsing (i.e., Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc.), and Microsoft Outlook. Knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel PowerPoint, Teams, and OneDrive is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Adjusting or moving objects up to twenty (20) pounds in all directions, which may include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or repositioning items as necessary to perform job duties.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, which may involve standing or sitting for extended periods, as required to complete tasks or duties associated with the role.
  • Engaging in communication with others to exchange information, which may involve speaking, listening, writing, or using electronic communication methods to ensure clear and effective understanding. This includes both verbal and non-verbal interactions with colleagues, clients, or external parties.
  • Repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, including tasks such as typing, data entry, or handling small objects. These repetitive activities may occur throughout the workday and require attention to ergonomics to ensure comfort and minimize strain.
  • Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and completeness of assigned work to ensure it meets quality standards and adheres to established guidelines.
  • Hearing and vision abilities, with or without correction, sufficient to drive safely and effectively observe and communicate with others.
