About the role

The Project Engineer is responsible overseeing and managing engineering projects within the manufacturing site. This role involves planning, coordination, and executing projects aimed at improving manufacturing processes, enhancing productivity, and ensuring product quality. Collaborates with multiple functions to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required specifications.

Role Responsibilities

  1. Project Planning and Management
  • Develop detailed Capital project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  1. Process Improvement
  • Analyse current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement Lean manufacturing principles and other process optimization techniques.
  • Develop and test new manufacturing methods and equipment to enhance efficiency and quality.
  1. Collaboration and Communication
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain.
  • Communicate project status, updates, and risks to stakeholders and management.
  • Prepare and present reports, documentation, and technical drawings.
  1. Quality Assurance
  • Ensure that manufacturing processes comply with quality standards and regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement quality control measures.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action for quality issues.
  1. Vendor Management
  • Source and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovation to enhance efficiency and safety.
  1. Budget and Cost Management
  • Prepare and mange project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities and implement cost reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor and control project expenditures.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field is required with a preference for a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering l or Construction Management Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience managing engineering projects in a manufacturing environment is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with IQ/OQ is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Experience with MS Projects (or other related software) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, six sigma, and other process improvement methodologies is preferred.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or food industries is preferred.

Location - this role is based in: Lincoln, Nebraska. This is not a remote role.
