Job Description

Grade: 12 (Non-Exempt)

Description:

The Project Manager leads projects from start to finish, coordinating with contractors and internal teams to execute project plans. Responsibilities include managing budgets, schedules, and task details using appropriate project management tools; reports, tracking charts, checklists, and meetings. The role requires strong leadership, delegation, and decision-making, with direct support to infrastructure, maintenance, and technical departments. The position oversees and participates in all aspects of projects and may have direct reports.

Receive Assignment From:

Plant Engineering Manager

  • Lead and participate in project design meetings, proposing ideas and recommending improvements
  • Track project progress and budget to ensure all project activities are completed on-time
  • Work with Plant Engineering Manager on change order management, and provide project tracking, development, and document control activities
  • Coordinate between all the various departments which are at work in a project
  • Monitor project schedules to avoid delays or deviations, and resolve project issues in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure all health and safety requirements are upheld
  • Hold project meetings and follow up on in-progress and completed projects
  • Oversee project correspondence and prepare and review project related emails, letters, proposals, memos, meeting minutes, and other documents
  • Ensure all project documents are completed, up-to-date, and properly stored
  • Serve as liaison between Plant Engineering Manager and: Internal customers, subcontractors, general contractors, and other resources on active projects
  • Assist in project design and development activities
  • Ensure all parties understand their roles and accept their responsibilities for a project
  • Ensure all contractors perform their work in compliance with company policies
  • Ensure all parties have the resources required to complete the project
  • Provide support or coordination to maintenance supervisors, production managers, and parts department during breakdowns, plant emergencies, or when the equipment/tooling is of high value or complexity.

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
  • Exhibit leadership in guiding teams and individuals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Effective record keeping and document management
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft programs.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent CAD program
  • Must be able to multi-task, stay organized, and function in a highly stressful fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to give directions, enforce compliance with project requirements, and resolve conflicts
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Proven ability to motivate and engage team members to achieve project goals
  • Available for varying hours or weekend projects and emergencies, when required
  • Available remotely for support or coordination in emergencies or plant breakdowns
