Job Description
FRONTIER COOPERATIVE is an agriculture leader in Nebraska providing grain, agronomy, feed and energy products and services to our customers. We are now hiring for a Propane Service Technician for our Waverly, NE location. This position is being offered as full-time with benefits.
Essential duties:
- Coordinates and preforms propane tank and service line inspection for defective parts and then performs all needed propane tank and service repair on defective parts to propane tanks.
- Upon completion of repairs conducts pressure and leak tests for all propane lines for compliance.
- Assist in the installations of new propane tanks at customer's place of residence or business and conducts on-site inspection and assessment of propane tank location to meet federal and local code regulations.
- Assists in preparing propane tank and service line installation quotes with customers and assist in ordering inventory for required parts for installations and repairs.
- Conducts on-site inspections of public assembly locations; conducts pressure and leak checks for all propane lines; inspects and changes outdated regulators as required by federal law.
- Promotes and maintains quality customer relationships by modeling customer service standards; practices and adheres to professional communications with customers, employees, and vendors.
- Ensuring standards of health, safety, and security to customers, vendors, and employees by following all company, OSHA, and EPA safety standards and regulations.
- May at times be called upon to prepare the refined fuels truck and/or propane truck for transfer of product from bulk storage to delivery truck.
Job skills and requirements:
- This position must have knowledge, skills and abilities in propane fuel, installations and repairs/services, customer service, time management, safety management, problem solving, and analyzing information.
- The Propane Technician must possess skills and abilities that demonstrates teamwork and the ability to organize, plan and carry out assignments; analysis and problem solve issues and reach positive resolution; problem solve; possess good judgment and reasoning abilities; analyze situations and identify causes; present tactfully unfavorable decisions to those affected.
- Knowledge and understanding of propane, chemical traits and properties and propane installation, service and repair processes.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form; effective communicator in person, written and electronic form; able to listen to vendors, customers and employees; present information verbally in one-on-one or small group settings.
- Ability to understand company management policies; adherence to company standards; interact with and gain the cooperation of managers, other employees, vendors, and customers to maintain an effective working relationship.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematical computations.
- Ability to operate safely and efficiently office equipment, such as; desktop computers, printers, photocopiers and scanners, phone and voice mail systems; and company licensed vehicles.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, product information, operating procedure manuals and instructions. Ability to write routine reports, sales proposals, and general correspondence.
- Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training,
