Job Description:

Overview of Unit/DepartmentAdult Psychiatric Units I and II provide care for adult patients (ages 18–50) experiencing acute mental health needs. Each unit includes 21 beds, divided into two wings: a 14-bed lower acuity wing and a 7-bed higher acuity wing, allowing for tailored, patient-centered care. These units are built around a strong commitment to safety and creating a supportive, therapeutic environment that promotes healing and mental wellness. Staff play a vital role in fostering stability, trust, and recovery for patients during vulnerable moments in their lives. Additional Information About the Position for Qualified Candidates

  • Up to $0.50 Certification pay (AAPT)
  • Up to $0.50 BS pay
  • Job Summary
  • ◦ Provide basic patient care under direction of nursing staff. Obtains information on patient condition as requested by the nursing staff, and reports any changes in patient condition.
  • Job Requirements
  • ◦ Education ▪ Required: High School Diploma or equivalent ▪ Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in psychology or related field ◦ Experience ▪ Preferred: Previous experience with mental health or age specific population ◦ Skills ▪ Excellent verbal and written communication skills ▪ Exhibits valuable time management skills ▪ Strong analytical/problem solving skills. ▪ Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment. ◦ Licensure/Certification/Registration ▪ BLS must be obtained within 90 days and maintained throughout employment ▪ Must obtain department specific certifications within the designated time frameEducation: ▪ Required: High School Diploma or equivalent ▪ Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in psychology or related fieldExperience: ▪ Preferred: Previous experience with mental health or age specific populationSkills: ▪ Excellent verbal and written communication skills ▪ Exhibits valuable time management skills ▪ Strong analytical/problem solving skills. ▪ Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.Licensure/Certification/Registration: ▪ Must obtain department specific certifications within the designated time frame
