Job Description
TL;DR Kharon is seeking a full-time QA Automation Engineering Manager based in Denver, Colorado. This role requires in-office attendance at least 4 days a week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Hire, mentor, and lead a small QA/SET team; be a hands-on player/coach.
- Architect, develop, and sustain software test automation frameworks and scripts, ensuring they align with Kharon’s vision.
- Forge strong partnerships with developers and the QA community to understand and pinpoint test automation needs.
- Craft and oversee meticulous test plans and cases, focusing on exhaustive coverage.
- Administer and interpret automated test cases, leveraging results to identify potential pitfalls.
- Spotlight areas ripe for procedural enhancement within the testing paradigm, and champion corresponding solutions.
- Diagnose and mend issues within our test automation infrastructure, maintaining its integrity.
- Document and articulate test automation methodologies and procedures, ensuring clarity and accessibility for all stakeholders.
- Help integrate automated tests into CI/CD; gate releases with reliable, fast pipelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is favored.
- 3+ years in software test automation.
- 4+ years as a QA or Test Engineer.
- Command over at least one major programming language, such as Java, Python, or Javascript.
- Deep experience with modern test stacks: Playwright/Cypress/Selenium, REST Assured/Postman, pytest/JUnit/TestNG.
- CI/CD proficiency (GitHub Actions/GitLab/CircleCI), containers (Docker/K8s), and cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure)
- Solid grasp of test data management, service virtualization/mocking, and observability (e.g., Datadog/Grafana).
- Excellent cross-functional communication and a bias for pragmatism and speed.

Reporting to the VP of Engineering, the QA Automation Engineering Manager will be instrumental in reinforcing our scalable trajectory. Harnessing a robust understanding of the intricacies of software development and testing methodologies, they will oversee the design, enhancement, and maintenance of our software test automation frameworks. Drawing from collective insights and closely collaborating with the internal Engineering team, the QA Engineer will support in amplifying our testing efficiency and shaping the direction of our technology operations. Steering the concept and implementation of processes that support our productivity, adaptability, and reliability, this QA leader will work to enhance our automation strategies, leveraging innovative technologies to sustain our commitment to quality. Documenting our test automation methodologies and interpreting automated test cases, they will provide invaluable insights, spotlighting areas that may be vulnerable and warrant procedural enhancements.

The base salary range at Kharon is set between$150,000 - $165,000. Please note that this figure does not necessarily include potential bonuses, commissions, benefits, or equity that may be part of the overall compensation package.
