Job Purpose
The core purpose of this role is to lead quality assurance activities for retail technology solutions, ensuring that in-store systems and applications function reliably, efficiently, and in alignment with retail operational needs. This position includes oversight of testing strategies, hands-on validation, defect management, and guidance for QA team members working on retail-focused initiatives.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Retail QA Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies covering functional, integration, usability, and performance aspects of retail systems.
- Testing Leadership: Lead testing for new software releases, hardware rollouts, system updates, and various in-store applications.
- Requirement Analysis: Partner with operations, product teams, and developers to understand workflows and translate them into clear, actionable test cases.
- Defect Management: Manage the full defect lifecycle, including reporting, triage, prioritization, and follow-up until resolution.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure testing processes align with retail industry expectations and internal quality guidelines.
- Team Leadership: Provide direction, mentoring, and support to QA engineers involved in retail projects.
- Process Optimization: Recommend and implement improvements to QA practices, tools, and methodologies for retail systems.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, with strong exposure to retail technologies.
- Hands-on experience testing POS systems, inventory tools, or other core retail applications.
- Understanding of retail workflows and operational challenges in store environments.
- Familiarity with testing methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall, along with common test management tools.
- Strong analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and clear communication across cross-functional teams.
