QA Supervisor

Quality Assurance SpecialistMandia International – Utica, NY

Mandia International, a fast-growing importer and manufacturer of specialty food oils, is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to support and grow our QA program. This hands-on role oversees food safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and lab capabilities. The position reports to the COO and offers strong long-term advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA initiatives and supervise the QA Support Team
• Maintain certifications: SQF, Organic, Kosher, Non-GMO, FDA, NYS Dept. of Agriculture, SEDEX
• Manage supplier approval and ongoing compliance
• Oversee quality and food safety across Production, Warehouse, and Maintenance
• Ensure compliant labeling (FDA, industry standards, nutrition, claims)
• Support customer audits, product specs, and documentation
• Conduct oil sensory evaluations and support blending decisions
• Deliver required training and expand lab testing capabilities

Requirements

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and/or 4+ years QA experience in food manufacturing
• SQF Practitioner, PCQI, HACCP, or FSVP (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience supervising QA/QC teams
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Clear communication and experience in manufacturing or lab environments
