Join a reputable food manufacturing operation dedicated to producing government-contracted products as a QA Technician in Albany, OR. This is a short-term, 8–11 week assignment that provides valuable experience in a regulated environment, with the potential for future opportunities. As a QA Technician, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring product quality and compliance, working closely with regulatory bodies and production teams to uphold the highest standards. You'll have the chance to sharpen your technical skills and gain experience in a fast-paced, quality-driven setting. What You’ll Do: Conduct product sampling, sensory evaluations, and analytical testing (such as oxygen headspace, seal integrity, moisture/water activity) to verify compliance with strict government and company specifications. Support testing of various government-contracted food products according to documented procedures. Collaborate with USDA inspectors to facilitate timely product releases. Accurately interpret, record, and analyze test results in accordance with regulatory and internal standards. Identify out-of-specification results, supporting investigations and root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement. Review production records and electronic documentation, verify inventory levels, and prepare certificates of conformance and analysis. Prioritize testing to meet shipping deadlines, supporting production and distribution schedules. Perform sampling and inventory backfilling at distribution centers as needed. Assist with regulatory inspections, continuous improvement initiatives, and transition toward paperless quality systems. Complete administrative tasks, including filing, product disposal, and pallet organization for donation or sale. Maintain excellent attendance and professional conduct, embodying the company’s commitment to quality and compliance. What You’ll Bring: 6 months to 1 year of QA or QC experience in food manufacturing. Basic science knowledge preferred. Familiarity with regulated manufacturing environments and GMPs is highly desirable. Strong documentation skills with high accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently. Why Join Us in Albany?
