Job Description

Location: Malvern, PA Salary: Negotiable Description: Our client is currently seeking a QA Test Strategist. This position is going to be a techno-functional role. This is hands-on when needed, as this not a tester nor a QA lead role. Responsible for defining and executing comprehensive test strategies for assigned projects. Sets testing standards, recommends appropriate tools, manages test planning across internal and external teams, drives best practices in automation and resiliency, and ensures thorough documentation, approvals, and effective communication before and after releases. Core responsibilities and expectations Strategy and planning · Define and continuously refine the test strategy, including scope, priorities, and coverage targets across manual, automation, performance, resiliency, and partner testing activities. Maintain and socialize the strategy in Confluence. · Identify and prioritize high-impact end-to-end scenarios for daily regression testing. Establish pass/fail criteria and verification checkpoints. · Align testing goals with organizational OKRs and “Fully Successful” benchmarks. Engage in leadership forums to establish and reinforce testing priorities. Coordination across teams and partners · Facilitate cross-organizational alignment with internal partners and vendors, ensuring data and process consistency. Address special cases to support and enable end-to-end validation needs. · Organize collaborative sessions that bring together PMs, engineers, and testers to share expertise, generate test data, and conduct joint verifications to meet both internal and vendor standards. · Serve as a primary contact for teams seeking guidance on testing scenarios or tool adoption, translating ideas into actionable plans. Environment, data, and readiness · Formulate environment management strategies within SAT and other non-production tiers, including test data management and methods for simulating test accounts when actual data is unavailable. Document potential risks and trade-offs, and consult with business stakeholders as needed. · Drive checkpoints, defect triage processes, and stakeholder status communications during certification and launch periods. Automation enablement · Lead the implementation of automated testing, conducting tool demonstrations and preparing example scripts. Address technical issues, collaborate with development teams, and expand automated regression suites. · Partner with teams piloting AI-assisted test generation, evaluate results, and recommend enhancements to ensure robust, repeatable outcomes. Performance, resiliency, and service virtualization · Advocate for adoption of available resiliency tools such as PTaaS, Mimic, and Chaos testing where applicable. · Provide training resources, integration guidance, and serve as a point of contact for use case intake. Documentation, evidence, and sign offs · Collect and publish test evidence for prioritized capabilities, obtaining approvals as required. Ensure documentation remains organized and readily accessible in Confluence. · Maintain and distribute materials needed for onboarding, test planning, and program status, including links to the project testing strategy and relevant knowledge bases. Communication and reporting · Deliver concise weekly summaries highlighting accomplishments, dependencies, and next steps to leadership and stakeholders, including updates on automation, AI pilots, and adoption of new testing tools or practices. · Manage regular status reporting and checkpoint communications during certification and post-certification periods. Ensure prompt logging and triage of defects. Outcomes and indicators to track · Well-defined and maintained regression suite executed daily in non-production environments with comprehensive coverage of critical scenarios. Documentation of sign offs for major test cycles. · Established automated test suite with stable, cross-platform execution and CI integration for prioritized workflows. · Adoption of resiliency practices, including at least one PTaaS or Mimic scenario per critical application, with documented learnings from Chaos testing initiatives. · Timely delivery of clear weekly communications to leadership, supplemented by structured checkpoint updates throughout certification and go-live activities.
