Job Description

We are hiring QA Engineers to join our teams located in Washington, DC and San Francisco, California. 

As a QA Engineer, you will:

  • Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases, plans, and strategies
  • Identify, document, track, and verify software defects and quality issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and ensure quality standards
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, API, and UAT testing
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Monitor test coverage, report quality metrics, and drive continuous process improvement

Essential Qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies and SDLC/STLC (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall)
  • Ability to operate test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium) and scripting/programming languages
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and assess quality risks
  • Ability to document and communicate defects clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with developers, product managers, and cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications for this position include: 

  • Prior professional work experience as a QA Engineer
  • Prior professional work experience in a start-up organization 

This is an onsite work opportunity and our teams operate from the State Affairs office in Washington, DC and San Francisco, California. State Affairs offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package to employees.

The annual salary range for this role as it is posted is $100,000 to $130,000 for candidates working from the State Affairs office in Washington, DC and San Francisco, CA. The final job level and annual salary will be determined based on the education, qualification, knowledge, skills, ability, and experience of the final candidate(s), and calibrated against relevant market data and internal team equity.  Benefits listed in this posting may vary depending on the nature of your employment with State Affairs.
