Job Description

Summary of the role

Summary:

Test and inspect products at various stages of production process and compile and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by monitoring, recording, auditing, and verifying adherence to the same.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the maintenance of the overall quality system, ensuring compliance with applicable ISO standards, FDA QSR's, and any other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Select products for tests at specified stages in production process, and test products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, or chemical characteristics.
  • Record test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Evaluate data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products, to measure performance life, or material characteristics.
  • Prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into computer for analysis.
  • Operate personal computer using word processing, database, statistical, and spreadsheet software.
  • Ensure the integrity of all traceable information from incoming materials through outgoing finished products and components.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
  • Adhere to all Atrion policies including safety, attendance, and personal hygiene requirements per the Atrion Employee Handbook.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and quality instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • One to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, and talk or listen. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The work environment described here is representative of that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in various environments including lab and manufacturing areas. May occasionally work near moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level encountered is typically moderate.
