Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Engineer will provide support to Quality, Production and Engineering teams. This individual will need to be able to assist in developing quality control procedures and evaluate production and suppliers' quality performance. At times, they will be responsible for performing visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials, materials in process, and finished products.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Ability to perform visual and dimensional inspections using magnifiers and contact/non-contact measuring devices.
- Read and understand blueprint drawings and specifications for correct test requirements, procedures, and sampling plans.
- Receives and documents sample parts into the Quality Lab tracking system for all rejects and reports to Quality Manager daily.
- On going review processes, procedures and specifications to understand the scope, requirements, and function and compliance of the products.
- Support product development by providing analysis and expertise throughout the inspection process.
- Identify root causes of problems in the production process; recommend and/or implement corrective measures.
- Analyze data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Solid understanding of APQP methodologies and quality planning structures.
- Practical experience with First Article Inspections (FAI) and PPAPs.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking and effective problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in the safe and accurate use of measuring instruments.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong foundation in manufacturing mathematics (geometry, arithmetic, trigonometry, SPC, and tolerancing.
- Familiarity with metallic machining processes.
- Competence in both Metric and Imperial measurement systems.
- Experience with non-contact measurement systems such as Keyence, OGP, or equivalent.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with managers, engineers, and machinists.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
- Experience with MRP/ERP is a plus
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite or comparable software tools.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline preferred; may be substituted with comparable field experience.
