Are you an Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering major with a passion for embedded systems, product design, and development? Join our Rapid City engineering team for a hands-on summer internship where you'll contribute to real-world projects focused on intelligent protection relay technologies and electronic safety systems.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to explore multiple aspects of engineering design working alongside a team of cross discipline experienced engineers in a collaborative environment.
What You’ll Learn and Do:
•Contribute to the design of components for electronic safety systems:•Electrical Engineers: Design and layout printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).•Mechanical Engineers: Design enclosures and mechanical interfaces.•Computer Engineers / Computer Scientists: Develop embedded firmware and software tools.•Test, validate, and troubleshoot prototypes and systems.•Analyze test results and prepare technical documentation.•Participate in design reviews and engineering discussions.•Learn about the product development lifecycle, from concept through prototyping and validation.
About You:
•Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, with an expected graduation of 2027 or 2028.•Demonstrated interest in hands-on design and development through coursework, personal projects, other internships, or extracurriculars.•Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.•Available to work 40 hours per week during summer 2026.
Hourly Wage Range: $24-30/hour
