Summary
The Department Radiology Educator will support staff education, compliance, and performance improvement efforts. This role will enhance patient safety, ensure regulatory compliance, support staff retention and engagement, and drive overall quality improvement across all imaging modalities and support staff.Job Description
The Radiology Educator would provide a consistent and centralized approach to staff development, regulatory readiness, and quality improvement. This individual would:
- Oversee onboarding and orientation of all new hires
- Monitor and implement accreditation best practices
- Conduct monthly environmental rounds
- Coordinate and track departmental performance improvement initiatives
- Monitor National Patient Safety Goals and implement corrective measures as needed
- Organize and deliver application training for new equipment rollouts
- Set up and manage annual skills validation for all staff
- Serve as a safety coach for the entire department
- Super trainer of primary applications within Radiology such as PACS and EMR systems.
Stays up-to-date on department policies and protocols. Consistently projects a positive image of the institution when working with physicians, patients, and patient family member as well as within the community.
Qualifications
Completion of an educational program accepted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or JointReview Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) is required. Bachelor's degree is required. Minimum of two years’ experience in the professional discipline (radiography). Possesses extensive knowledge of radiologic principles and practices. Prior supervision, instruction, and/or evaluation experience is preferred.Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board (NDMIRT) is required.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.Sanford is an EEO/AA Employer M/F/Disability/Vet.
