Job Description
The Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center (WVRC) is a 24/7 Emergency and Specialty Animal Hospital, dedicated to providing patients, clients, and referring veterinarians with the highest quality emergency and specialty veterinary medical care. WVRC Waukesha, WI is hiring a Radiology Technologist in our Imaging Department. Compensation and Schedule:Starting at $33 per hour, may be higher based on experience and certifications. 5 eight hour shifts or 3 twelve hour shifts per week. This position may require 1 holiday on call shift per year.Responsibilities:
- Daily use of Radiologic imaging such as X-Ray, Fluoroscopy, MRI and CT.
- Performs X-Ray, Fluoroscopy, MRI, and CT scans with proper technical factors.
- In partnership with the Veterinary Technicians, assists with positioning of patients to ensure appropriate images are captured.
- Trains staff to form standard expectations with all patient imaging, and creates or reviews imaging protocols.
- Works independently or under the guidance of the clinician to modify scan techniques for optimal image quality.
- Troubleshoots image quality issues while performing X-Ray, MRI, and CT.
- Performs routine X-Ray, MRI, Fluoroscopy, and CT quality assurance and reports any concerns in a timely manner.
- Maintains a clean and safe environment and adhere to appropriate restricted access.
- In partnership with the Hospital Manager and service vendors, troubleshoots technology issues with scanners/equipment when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program (associate or bachelor’s degree).
- Certification or licensure, such as from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in the United States.
- 1 year experience as MRI Technologist in human or veterinary medicine
