Job Description
SUMMARY: USAM, a high-end architectural millwork firm base in Northern VA, is looking for a Receiving & Material Handler Associate for our facility in Manassas, VA. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Material Handler:
- Receives, organizes, and stages material.
- Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in proper storage location.
- Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
- Stage production orders for consumption to ensure continuous production flow.
- Perform quality inspections of materials, ensuring that the delivery is completed as requested and the order meets company and industry standards.
- Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered.
- Organize stock in the most efficient way using material handling equipment (forklifts, pallets, etc.)
- Handle pallets and boxes using material handling equipment and other moving tools throughout the production facilities.
- Wears personal protective equipment as necessary for the job.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Coordinating with purchase office and suppliers for the receiving of supplies.
- Validating the documents and reports in accord with the unloaded merchandise.
- Making note of any damaged goods or any other discrepancies and reporting the same to the supervising authorities.
- Managing all the stock records and inventory lists.
- Systematically handling and storing all the received goods.
- Maintaining a counting cycle and keeping a record of all labels and tags of the received goods.
- Receives product deliveries and verifies correct quantity per order; checks quality and possible damage; and properly inputs received material into computer system.
- Delivers product to appropriate personnel, location, and department.
- Maintains safe work environment according to all department procedures, federal and state regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associates degree or completion of technical degree highly preferred
- 1+ years of basic warehousing procedures experience
- Forklift certification
- 1+ years of millwork manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to lift objects weighing between 50-75 pounds
- Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to follow directions and work well in a team
- Ability to take initiative
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee works on or near the shop floor where there may be moving mechanical parts with occasional exposure to the risk of electrical shock, outdoor weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally high.
- No Travel required.
