Overview

A leading Kansas City healthcare system is seeking compassionate, skilled Cardiac Care Registered Nurses to join a high-acuity cardiovascular unit. This role offers competitive pay, excellent benefits, rotating schedules, and major sign-on bonuses for both day and night shift RNs.

About the Role

Cardiac Care RNs provide specialized nursing care to patients recovering from cardiovascular procedures and surgeries, including:

  • Open-heart surgery

  • Heart catheterizations & stent placements

  • Pacemaker/AICD implantation

  • Ablations & electrophysiology interventions

  • Cardiovascular surgeries

This unit focuses on rapid assessment, advanced cardiac monitoring, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Unit Details

  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:3 to 1:5 depending on acuity

  • High-acuity patient population in a comprehensive stroke and STEMI-certified facility

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and nursing standards.

  • Monitor, evaluate, and support patients recovering from cardiac procedures.

  • Deliver care aligned with state Nursing Practice Acts and ANA Standards of Practice.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

  • Support patient education regarding cardiac recovery and post-discharge care.

Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 1 year of acute-care RN experience in cardiac or similar specialty.

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).

  • Licensure: Active Missouri RN license (or compact equivalent).

  • Certifications:

    • BLS required at hire

    • ACLS required within 6 months
