Job Description

In this role you will be:

  • Review and verify physician medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential interactions
  • Prepare and dispense medications, including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and controlled substances
  • Monitor patient medication therapies and provide clinical consultations to medical and nursing staff
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with care teams to optimize medication use
  • Educate patients and families on safe and effective medication use when appropriate
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians, students, and interns
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and institutional regulations
  • Maintain accurate documentation in pharmacy and patient medical records systems
  • Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives within the pharmacy department

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education
  • EXPERIENCE: Current valid license to practice pharmacy in Pennsylvania
  • LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Continuing education credits to maintain active licensure as mandated by the PSBP.
