Research Coordinator - Montgomery City, MO
ADM is seeking a Research Coordinator at our Montgomery City, MO research facility. This position will participate in delivering new products and product applications to address customer opportunities for ADM's Animal Nutrition business. In the role the successful candidate will work with project leaders and team personnel to schedule and execute poultry and swine animal studies in support of new product development. This position will report to the Farm Manager, Montgomery City R&D facility.
Your Responsibilities
- Follow livestock research protocols in feeding, weighing, animal care, including data collection and maintaining accurate records
- Assist project managers in protocol development at the Research Center
- Responsible for research trial preparation and coordination including, but not limited to: forms, templates, labels, supply ordering, calendars and scheduling.
- Quality assurance of data
- Organize, enter and report all data to project manager
- Coordinate with veterinarians in the care of the animals
- Organize, prep, and delegate for sample collections
- Provide leadership and guidance to Research Center staff members
- Technical skills in collecting a variety of samples
- Coordinate with lab on sample analyses
- Experience with processing and preparation of biological samples for analyses desired
- Coordinate with universities and industry partners when necessary
- Develop SOP's necessary for monogastric research procedures
- Assist in writing final reports for studies
- Estimate feed needs and coordinate with feed mill for manufacturing
- Demonstrate leadership in following and applying facility safety guidelines
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Biology or Animal Science, or related subject.
- 3-5 years of livestock production (with emphasis on monogastric) and animal nutrition research.
- Good working knowledge of animal husbandry and related health/treatment procedures.
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative team player. Exhibits integrity and trust.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and the ability to operate farm equipment.
