Location: RiverHouse- 211 SE Caruthers Portland, OR 97214
Schedule: This is an in person position, Monday through Friday, 8:00am- 5:00pm.
Wage Range: $21.00 - $24.00 hourly, Non-Exempt

Position Overview:
The Resource Specialist serves as the first point of contact for individuals reaching out to NARA NW. This position plays a vital role in connecting community members with needed resources and ensuring timely, coordinated support. The Resource Specialist is a subject matter expert on all NARA NW programs and community resources, helping clients navigate available services, schedule initial appointments, and check the status of referrals. This position provides support and guidance to staff and clients, helps facilitate access to community resources, and works collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to ensure high-quality services to families, elders, and children/youth.
What you will do:
- Serve as the first line of contact for clients, families, and community members contacting NARA NW.
- Provide information and guidance on all NARA NW programs.
- Conduct brief screenings to determine client needs and make appropriate internal and external referrals.
- Schedule initial appointments for clients across all NARA NW programs.
- Check referral and application status for clients.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of community resources.
- Document client contacts, referrals, follow-up activities accurately and promptly in designated databases or electronic health records.
- Collaborate with program staff to ensure smooth handoffs and continuity of care
- Participate in staff training and development, sharing information on resources, best practices, and culturally specific approaches.
- Attend internal and external meetings, representing Social Services and sharing relevant updates with staff and leadership.
- Promote a Whole Health approach that incorporates recovery, physical and behavioral health, and spiritual well-being.
- Assist with leading team huddles and program meetings to support communication and program alignment.
- Work collaboratively and maintain professional boundaries with clients, other NARA staff, and team members, treating everyone with respect and dignity at all times.
