About the Role

Spiegelworld is looking for a Restaurant General Manager to join the team at Diner Ross at the LINQ in Las Vegas. The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for ensuring efficient restaurant operations, maximizing financial performance of the restaurant and providing the highest possible quality guest service and product by encouraging a positive work environment. This role is responsible for setting the strategic vision for the restaurant and is accountable for the restaurant’s operational and financial success. The Restaurant General Manager will oversee the operations for the 140 seat venue and approximately 75 team members, including 6 direct reports. This position reports to the Executive Director of Hospitality. 

What You’ll Do

  • Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace.
  • Create a work environment which promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.
  • Create SOPs for the front of house and back of house to ensure all standards are being met and train staff appropriately.
  • Oversee all F&B operations for restaurant and theater, ensuring an integrated experience. 
  • Actively participate in service and daily operations.
  • Maximize revenue with effective table management and planning for additional resources during high volume periods.
  • Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, and coach all employees, both union and non-union, to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met.
  • Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, inventory, and cash control.
  • Actively develop F&B knowledge and instill excitement and passion for food, beverage, and service in the team. Host meetings and conduct regular education sessions for staff on product and service. 
  • Take ownership of guest concerns and requests while acting decisively to ensure guest satisfaction when issues occur.
  • Work closely with the Show team to craft unique guest itineraries and seamless customer service between the connected venues. 
  • Ensure all resources for an efficient operation are in place, directing routine inventories, and conducting routine inspections of the restaurant.
  • Hold and attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What You Bring

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in restaurants with at least 4 years in restaurant management. A bachelor’s degree in hospitality or hotel/restaurant management is desirable. 
  • Hands-on experience operating a restaurant as part of the leadership team.
  • Wealth of food and beverage experience in large restaurants and proven experience as a manager.  Experience in the Las Vegas or nightlife market is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience and working knowledge of restaurant management software, like SevenRooms, Avero, InfoGenesis, Partender, Oracle, payroll software.
  • Proven people management, motivation, and development skills to be an inspirational leader to your team. Experience managing union staff is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an always changing, never dull, creative environment that creates memorable moments.
  • Possesses excellent communication (written and verbal), financial acumen and business management abilities.
  • The ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal.
  • Successful reference checks & background check clearance prior to hire 
  • Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Must have valid work authorization for the US

  • Work is performed in a high volume professional food service and theater environment.
  • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
