Job Description
Job Title: Restaurant Server

Supervision Exercised: N/A
Supervision Received: Director of Food & Beverage, Executive Chef, and Food + Beverage Supervisor
Job Summary: The restaurant server provides exceptional service for both our Doheny Surf Restaurant and Longboard Rooftop Lounge.
Job Duties include the following:
Guest Services & Operations:
- Efficiently and properly perform all service standards.
- Attend to guest needs by answering questions regarding food & beverage and our facilities accurately and in a friendly manner.
- Maintain full knowledge of menus, recipes, and other pertinent information regarding the hotel.
- Identify food orders when ready and deliver items to tables in a timely manner.
- Must be familiar with and adhere to all liquor liability laws.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Administrative & Communication:
- Communicates with any guest needs to Director of Food + Beverage, Executive Chef and Food + Beverage Supervisor.
- Completes side work during non-busy hours.
- Always keep outlet areas clean and presentable.
- Responsible for constant sanitation, organization, and proper food handling.
- Prepare work areas for opening, mid-shift, or closing in accordance to company standards.
- Reports to as scheduled, in uniform, and ready to be in position which includes uniform to be pressed and cleaned, name tag worn, and excellent hygiene.
- Follow up with guest requests/complaints
Minimum Requirements:
- Previous serving experience in a hotel setting such as Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt or another hotel brand.
- Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work weekends, holidays and overnight shifts.
- Must be able to work in a team setting.
- Must have exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to satisfactory communicate in English with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.
Necessary Licenses/Certifications:
- RBS Certification will be required prior to the start of employment.
- Must complete CA Food handlers Card training provided upon hire.

The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
