PDC is seeking a Revit Designer / Project Manager to work under our current Revit Department Manager for a period of approximately 5 years, then assume the Department Manager responsibilities. This position will be primarily related to the Cassette relocatable buildings for MRI and other similar imaging equipment.Job summaryThe Revit Designer / Project Manager is responsible for both the technical creation of BIM models and construction documents using Autodesk Revit, and the overall management of design and construction projects. This role requires an experienced professional who can serve as the primary BIM expert for a project while also leading project teams, managing client relationships, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. - Create, modify, and manage detailed 3D models and construction documentation for architectural or engineering projects using Revit.
- Develop and implement project-specific BIM standards, protocols, and workflows.
- Produce a full set of construction drawings for permitting and construction.
- Create and maintain project templates, family libraries, and content, ensuring a high level of accuracy and quality control.
- Perform clash detection and coordination between architectural, structural, and MEP models to resolve design conflicts.
- Provide support and technical troubleshooting to other team members on Revit-related issues.
- Lead projects from initiation through completion, including defining scope, setting milestones, and managing deadlines.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Develop and monitor project schedules and budgets, managing resource allocation effectively.
- Conduct and document regular project meetings and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Review and process shop drawings, submittals, and change orders.
- Perform site visits to review progress and ensure the design intent is being followed.
- Ensure all project documentation is organized, up-to-date, and compliant with company and industry standards.
- Manage project teams, delegating tasks and mentoring junior designers and modelers.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in an architectural, engineering, or construction environment, with a focus on project management and Revit-based design.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert-level skills in Autodesk Revit. Proficiency with other related software, such as AutoCAD and Navisworks, is often required.
- Education: A professional degree or certification in architecture, engineering, drafting, or a related technical field is typically preferred.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead a project from start to finish, managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- BIM Coordination: Experience developing and enforcing BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and workflows.
- Certifications: Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit or other relevant industry certifications.
- Specific Experience: Prior experience in relevant market sectors, such as residential, commercial, or institutional projects.
