Job Description

If you love workplace safety, problem-solving, and building strong client relationships, our Risk Safety Consultant role might be the perfect match for you! Apply today if you’re passionate about safety, compliance, and enjoy turning data and inspections into meaningful solutions for clients.

About the role:

Time management and communication are essential in this position because you’ll be responsible for performing detailed workplace assessments, guiding clients on regulatory compliance, and delivering timely, accurate reports.

A typical day could include:

  • Conducting workplace safety surveys (onsite and virtual) to identify potential hazards and evaluate safety programs.
  • Analyzing claims and incident data to uncover trends, root causes, and opportunities for loss prevention.
  • Writing comprehensive technical reports that summarize findings and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborating with Nextep’s underwriting, sales, and risk teams to assess prospective clients and support risk management strategies.
  • Guiding clients on accident investigations, safety training, and compliance with federal and state regulations (OSHA, ANSI, NFPA).

As a trusted advisor, you’ll help clients strengthen safety practices, minimize workplace risks, and ultimately lower their insurance costs.

About you:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree, ideally in Occupational Health and Safety (or a related field).
  • You bring 5–10 years of hands-on experience in risk control, insurance safety consulting, or industry safety roles (manufacturing, construction, etc.).
  • You’re skilled at analyzing data (including pivot tables) to identify loss trends and develop data-driven solutions.
  • You’re a strong communicator, comfortable writing detailed technical reports and presenting findings to clients and underwriters.
  • You have a solid understanding of OSHA regulations and safety standards, with the ability to influence and advise business leaders.
  • Certifications such as CSP, ARM, or CRM are a plus.

You’re proficient in Google Suite, Salesforce, and web-based applications.

Benefits

About benefits:
