Job Description

Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuro Vascular Telemetry for a top healthcare client in Roanoke, VA.This opportunity offers the chance to join a high-acuity telemetry unit specializing in the care of patients with neurological and vascular conditions, including stroke recovery, transient ischemic attacks (TIAs), post-neurosurgical cases, and complex medical comorbidities requiring cardiac monitoring. The RN will play a critical role in observing subtle neurological and cardiac changes, ensuring timely interventions, and supporting multidisciplinary treatment plans that drive optimal recovery outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient-centered, evidence-based nursing care to individuals with neurological and cardiovascular needs.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and monitor neurological and cardiac status using telemetry systems.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders while documenting all care in EPIC EMR.
  • Collaborate closely with neurology, cardiology, and rehabilitation teams to ensure continuity of care.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnosis, recovery expectations, and discharge planning.
  • Adhere to hospital safety standards, infection control policies, and core quality measures.
  • Participate in unit initiatives focused on stroke certification, quality improvement, and professional development.

Requirements

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or approved program eligible for Virginia RN licensure.

Experience

  • New graduates and experienced nurses are encouraged to apply.

Certifications/Licenses

  • Virginia RN license (or eligibility).
  • CPR certification required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications as applicable within one year of hire.

Skills or Competencies

  • Strong neuro and cardiac monitoring skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records and telemetry monitoring equipment.
