POSITION SUMMARY:
The Trauma Services Resource RN has a multifaceted role within Trauma Services, incorporating the components of clinical practice, consultation, education, and research into the care of patients. The Performance Improvement Nurse supports the Trauma Program Manager in conjunction with the PI Coordinator with chart review to maintain the Level II verification by ACS. The Trauma Performance Improvement Nurse collaborates closely with the Trauma Program Manager, Trauma Medical Director, and other members of Trauma Services to review the performance and safety of Enloe Health's mission to support the critically injured members of the community. Primary roles are critically evaluating issues, promoting loop closure, and optimizing clinical outcomes. Administers clinical performance improvement initiates by serving as an educational resource to nursing staff, the health care team, and Local Community stakeholders. They will review trauma data and work collaboratively with Enloe Health staff and community groups as requested. May attend Multidisciplinary Rounds and Trauma Activations. The Trauma Services Performance Improvement Nurse contributes to the service excellence mission of Enloe Health.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
Three years Emergency Department or Critical Care clinical nursing experience
EPIC Trauma Narrator OR trauma team leader experience
Desired:
Bachelors or Master's degree in nursing
Basic working knowledge of current trauma registry program
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
Minimum:
Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing
Current CPR certification
Current ACLS certification
Current PALS certification
Current TNCC certification (within 6 months of hire) (dept tracks)
Completion of an advanced trauma course TOPIC/OPTIMAL (dept tracks)
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Working knowledge of hospital information systems. Demonstrates skill in complex problem solving.
Demonstrates and understands collection and analysis of data. Demonstrates evidence of strong skills in confidentiality, integrity, creativity, and initiative. Demonstrates ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals and handle complex and confidential-sensitive situations and information. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
