Position Highlights
Position Summary:
Responsible to responsible for assisting the Director of Facility Engineering in the planning, organizing, and directing of the Environment of Care (EC) programs for Avera Heart Hospital. This person also maintains the process to collect information about EC related issues and work with appropriate staff to develop and implement recommendations addressing these issues as well as monitoring the effectiveness of actions taken. The Safety Coordinator will also provide assistance to and be a resource to the Avera Heart Hospital.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday days with evening and weekend involvement; 8 hour shift.
Education/Experience:
Associate degree in Safety, Security, Industrial Hygiene or equivalent experience required. One or more years' experience in safety/industrial hygiene/security activities is preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Certification in clinical or safety specialty required within the first 2 years of employment.
