About The Position
TheSafety Intern(AmerenSafety) is responsible for providing support toAmerenbusiness segments to assist in the reduction of injuries and illnesses with a focus on soft-tissue and ergonomic risk reduction. The intern will employ a variety of scientific techniques andproblem solvingskills to ensure that the design of systems, tasks, equipment and facilities provide the best level of health and safety for co-workers.

Key responsibilities include:
Analysis of soft tissue injury records toidentifytrends for targeted analysis and interventions.
Analysis of the interaction between co-workersand machinery/equipment.
Assessingthe effect of work environments on co-workers.
Identifyingpossibleimprovementsandassistingwith implementation.
Offer information,adviceand recommendations toAmerenSafety department.
Compilingand presenting professionalinformation inreportsand verbally
Liaising with other professionals in Ameren Safety, healthspecialistsand designers.
Assistingin the investigation of soft tissue injuries and illnesses.
Qualifications
Pursuing aBachelor’s degree insafety, industrial hygiene or ergonomicsin anaccredited programwith a GPA of 2.5 orabove..
TheSafetyInternworksa standard work week in anoffice and field environment.This positionmay requireoccasional overtime (evenings, weekends) that may involveovernighttravel.This positionmayalso be expectedto provide support duringoutages, storms, or other emergencies aswhich mayrequire workingextended hours,weekendsand holidays.A valid driver's license and vehicle is also required.
It is preferred the selected candidateresidein the St. Louis Metropolitan area or Missouri, Illinois and Iowa and be willing to travel.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate willdemonstrate:
Proficiencywith MS Officepreferred. Strong analytical,problem-solving,communication, and interpersonal skillsalso.Workwith direct supervision andparticipatein a geographically dispersed team environmentoften requiring virtual meetings. Working knowledge of OSHA and other regulatory agency standards.
