Safety Manager

Position Summary:

The EHS / Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs on the 2nd shift to ensure a safe work environment and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role oversees workplace safety initiatives, conducts inspections and audits, provides training to employees, and promotes a culture of safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies, procedures, and programs.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments on 2nd shift operations.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; recommend corrective actions.
• Provide safety training, guidance, and coaching to employees and management in both English and French.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
• Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation.
• Collaborate with operations and management to identify hazards and implement solutions.
• Lead safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in EHS, safety management, or industrial safety.
• Fluency in English and French would be a plus!
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, and industry best practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to conduct training and influence behavior at all organizational levels.
• Professional certifications (CSP, CHST, or equivalent) preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Industrial or manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, chemicals, or other hazards.
• Requires walking, standing, and occasional physical inspections.
• 2nd shift hours; occasional travel may be required between facilities.
