What You’ll Get to Do

The Safety Specialist is focused on performing coordinating and managing safety at the Terrell facility.

This role is perfect for an individual who wants to formulate, interpret management policies or operating practices. A vital member of the Safety team, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

 This role will support two facilities (Terrell, and Alba). 

Job responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate operations, processes and equipment in the facility to determine compliance with all safe operating policies, facility written programs and OSHA requirements.
  • Coordinates safety initiatives for facility to ensure the compliance with all applicable standards.  This would include, but not limited to:
  • Coach, advise, & audit the teams on a fully compliant LOTO process,
  • Coordinate management required safety documentation for the facility (JSAs, Machine Guarding & PPE Assessments, New Equipment Evaluations, etc.)
  • Customer Focused - will support 2 facilities 45-50 miles apart so must be adept at managing workflow

What We Are Looking For

  • Having knowledge & experience in what creates musculoskeletal disorders (e.g., force, frequency, duration, posture, repetition, etc.) - and how to implement solutions in a systematic, science-based approach
  • Machine guarding: As with our other safety roles, these facilities have saws, punch presses, CNCs, and other machinery & equipment with pinch points, nip points, amputation risk, struck-by risks, etc. Having at least a basic understanding of the OSHA machine guarding standard (1910.212) and how to implement solutions to meet that standard
  • LOTO
  • Ability to manage multiple on-going tasks to meet deadlines
  • Ability to relate to management as well as shop floor employees
  • 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing and safety setting or relevant safety educational background
  • Basic understanding of OSHA machine guarding standard (1910.212)
