Udemy is a global company headquartered in San Francisco, with additional U.S. offices in Denver and Austin, and international hubs in Australia, India, Ireland, Mexico, and Türkiye. This is an in-office position, requiring three days a week in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.

About your skills

  • Technical Problem-Solving: You can analyze complex business requirements and design elegant solutions that balance functionality, performance, and maintainability.

  • Technical Depth: You have a deep understanding of the Salesforce platform capabilities and limitations, allowing you to make optimal architecture decisions.

    • Advanced Apex development skills including bulkification, governor limit optimization, and asynchronous processing

    • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, Aura, LWR  for Lightning Web Component development

    • Expert-level Flow builder skills with the ability to create complex, multi-step flows

    • Experience with SOQL and SOSL query optimization for large data volumes

    • Demonstrated ability to design and implement custom APIs using Apex REST and SOAP services

    • Version control expertise using Git, including branching strategies and merge conflict resolution

    • Proficiency with developer tools including Developer Console, VS Code, and Salesforce CLI

    • Understanding of security best practices including sharing architecture and permission sets

About this role

As Udemy transitions from Zendesk to Salesforce Service and Experience Clouds, we are seeking a highly skilled Salesforce Service Cloud Developer to help design, build, and scale solutions that enhance our global customer support operations. Supporting both Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) and B2B (Enterprise) use cases, you will be instrumental in delivering complex, secure, and scalable implementations using both declarative tools and custom Apex/LWC development.  You’ll collaborate closely with Product Managers, Admins, and cross-functional business partners to bring strategic initiatives to life—from advanced case management to AI-driven automation.

What you’ll be doing 

  • Collaborate with product managers and architects to design scalable solutions within Salesforce Service and Experience Clouds that address complex business requirements

  • Develop custom functionality using Apex classes, triggers, test classes, LWR, SOQL, SOSL and Lightning Web Components following best practices in performance, security, and modular design.

  • Design and implement advanced automation using Flows, Process Builder, and Apex with complex branching logic, transaction control, and error handling

  • Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, platform events, and Workato

  • Execute configuration tasks, data migrations, and transformations using both declarative tools and custom ETL processes

  • Support testing phases (QA, SIT, and UAT) and manage deployments across environments using Gearset with Udemy defined CI/CD practices

  • Create comprehensive technical documentation and participate in knowledge sharing to ensure solution sustainability

  • Actively engage in agile development practices including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily standups to deliver high-quality solutions on schedule

What you’ll have

  • 5-10 years of experience developing and administering Salesforce Service Cloud, with emphasis on supporting global SaaS companies

  • Experience with Salesforce Experience Cloud, Workato, Gearset, and AI solutions are preferred.

  • Required Salesforce certifications:

    • Salesforce Administrator

    • Platform App Builder

    • Platform Developer I certifications

  • Preferred Salesforce certifications:

    • Platform Developer II

    • Service Cloud Consultant

    • Experience Cloud Consultant

    • Javascript Developer 1

  • Hands on experience implementing complex Service Cloud solutions including Cases, Knowledge, Omni-Channel, and advanced automation

  • Advanced skill in both declarative development (Flow, Process Builder, Validation Rules) and programmatic development (Apex, Aura, LWR,  Lightning Web Components, API integrations)

  • Experience working in an agile development environment with regular sprint cycles

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
