Nelson University is seeking qualified adjunct instructors to teach science courses within the College of Health Sciences. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the academic formation of students while maintaining flexibility in teaching schedules.
As an adjunct faculty member, you will play an important role in delivering quality instruction in biology, anatomy, chemistry, or health sciences, helping students develop both scientific understanding and critical thinking skills within a supportive Christian higher education environment.
Position Details
Adjunct instructors are hired on a semester-by-semester basis to teach specific courses based on enrollment needs and institutional requirements. Teaching assignments typically range from one to three courses per semester and may include daytime, evening, or online course sections.

Ability to integrate faith and learning in the classroom and model Christian characterMaster's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physiology, Medical Sciences, or a related science field from an accredited institution; doctoral degree preferred
At least 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline or a closely-related field required for instruction at the undergraduate levelDemonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: general biology, anatomy and physiology, chemistry, physics, microbiology, or health sciences
Professionals with significant practical experience in scientific or healthcare fields are encouraged to applyStrong communication skills and ability to engage students effectively in both lecture and laboratory settings
Primary Responsibilities
Teach assigned undergraduate science courses in accordance with approved syllabi and course learning outcomesPrepare engaging lectures, laboratories, demonstrations, and learning activities that promote student comprehension and application of scientific concepts
Design and administer assessments that accurately measure student learning and provide meaningful feedbackSubmit grades and maintain accurate records in accordance with university policies and deadlines
