Job Description
AdamsPlace Independent Living is actively seeking an Unarmed Third-Shift Security Officer.
Security at Adams Place Independent Living - FULL-TIME Weekdays MIDNIGHT - 8 AM
GENERAL PURPOSE:
This position provides building and resident security on third-shift and completes daily assignments related to opening the building.
RESPONSIBLE TO:
Executive Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Pleasant and helpful personality both in person and via the telephone.
- Proficiency in standard English.
- Clean background check.
- At least 21 years of age.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Able to carry out fine motor skills and manual dexterity.
- Ability to sit for 8 hours a day.
- Ability to walk long distances.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Are determined by the center and may include, but are not limited to the following:
Greet and assist visitors
Maintain security in the building from midnight to 8:00 a.m.
Walk each floor at least every two hours, verifying 1st floor exits remain secure
Respond to any emergencies by calling appropriate first responders
Dining room menus
Sanitize covers
Remove old and insert new daily menu into menu holders
Stocking
Coffee bar supplies (cups, napkins, sweeteners, etc.)
Bussing lounge (card/game room just off the parlor and dining room)
Clear any food or dishes from the lounge
Make sure the coffee warmer is turned off
Sanitize tables
Empty trash
Be familiar with building and campus layouts and departments to direct visitors or answer questions
Verify identity of anyone arriving after hours
Answer phone, take messages, and direct calls to appropriate people or departments
Maintain communications log with appropriate information regarding resident absences, illnesses, equipment problems, etc. for all departments and shifts
Respond to resident's complaints, needs, and questions
Monitor Lifewatch system, responding as appropriate to any emergency
Use software to log work orders for maintenance
Observe and respond to emergency alert system
Provide "wake up" calls as requested
Assemble admission packages
Building "wake up"
unlock doors by 6:00 a.m.
Deliver newspapers per instruction
Make coffee and setup drink station
Other duties as necessary or assigned by Director or Administration
