Job Description
This position has the following schedule: Sunday to Wednesday from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The Security Officer will ensure compliance with Loss Prevention policies and procedures and contribute to shrink/ risk identification and reduction. They will be familiar with the facility, Loss Prevention and Asset Protection. They will be responsible for logging in and badging inbound freight deliveries and assisting with keeping dock, door flow and yard traffic moving. They are also responsible for monitoring AMAG activity and access control, reporting issues and violations, and monitoring CCTV and observing for policy violations, unsafe acts and conducting routine and directed observations via CCTV.
The Security Officer will be able to maintain, keep organized and properly disseminate logs, reports and other paperwork required for the position. They will maintain a professional looking and functioning work area and equipment including the guard booth and their security vehicle. Maintaining a professional, good working relationship with management, staff and other associates and contractors on site is a must.
Other key responsibilities include, operating a security vehicle in a safe manner in various weather conditions, answering the telephones and directing calls to the proper person or department for resolution, monitor and communicate clearly and professionally on portable radios and respond to emergency situations in a calm, professional manner.
They will also conduct various compliance and operational audits as directed, conduct interior and exterior tours of the facility on foot or in vehicle, monitor fuel deliveries, log in contractors, assign work crew badges and conduct Point of Sale checks at the booth. Temporary badges will be issued through the security officer, and they will conduct weekly access control changes as required.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
The right candidate for this position will have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license. They must have the ability to pass an AGNE pre-employment process and have good oral and written communication skills. Maintaining confidentiality is a must. They will have good interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of personalities. The ability to maintain a constant awareness of surroundings is a must as well as presenting a professional demeanor at all times. The Security Officer will possess organizational skills and basic computer skills as well as the ability to learn of their programs such as AMAG, CCTV, PowerVue , RDS, and others.
NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Security or Loss Prevention-related certification(s) - such as CPO, LPC, LPQ, CPP, PSP, PCI, etc. Prior security, LP or asset protection experience;
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The right candidate for this position must be able to stand 8-10 hours per day, work varied shifts and hours, walk extended distances including stairs and multiple surfaces, work in adverse weather conditions and extreme temperatures, sit in a vehicle for extended periods, and lift, place and remove traffic cones and pylons as needed to control traffic around the Guard Booth.
