Summary:

Enforces the security policies and procedures of EverTrue and the community; Guards against, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry to property by performing the following duties outlined in this job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Patrols the community on foot and by vehicle to maintain a safe environment and provides security for visitors, residents, and employees

2. Surveys the community for safety hazards, fires, suspicious people or other hazardous conditions

3. Ensures security of doors, windows, and gates by performing routine checks

4. Provides escort service to buildings and parking lots and assist residents to gain entry to their apartments as needed Responds to physical alarms

5. Assists residents with minor repairs in the absences of maintenance

6. Picks up trash during rounds in the patio homes and apartments

7. Delivers newspapers

8. Performs security searches as needed

9. Provides assistance to the Fire Department and staff during fire/disasters

10. Monitors heavy equipment and pressure gauges

11. Monitors light outage and maintenance

12. Investigates theft and property damage reports

13. Participates in snow removal

14. Completes knowledge of alarms and procedures

15.Sounds alarm or call police, fire department by telephone if needed

16. Writes concise and factual reports on each incident that occur during a shift

17. May operate telephone/paging system receiving and transferring all incoming, internal, and external phone calls and making pages.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months of related experience and/or training
  • Must apply for security license within 90 days of employment if required by city, county or state and meet the qualifications for such license
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to follow simple oral and written directions

On occasion, may be subject to emotionally upset residents, or family members. Is willing to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. Is subject to loud noises from machinery. Is subject to exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to the AIDS and Hepatitis B virus within guidelines of standard precautions.

EverTrue Pay & Benefits

Pay grade: 09, $16.20/hour to $25.15/hour.
