Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Security Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of people, property, and assets within a designated area. The personnel in this position are instrumental in maintaining a secure environment and preventing unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, or other security breaches. They are responsible for enforcing security policies and procedures, monitoring surveillance equipment, and responding to security incidents as they arise.

- Patrol assigned areas regularly to maintain visibility and deter criminal or suspicious activity.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarms to identify potential security threats.
- Conduct security checks of buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure they are secure.
- Respond promptly to alarms or calls for assistance and take appropriate action.
- Provide excellent customer service to employees, visitors, and guests by assisting with inquiries and providing directions.
- Write detailed incident reports documenting security-related incidents, accidents, or disturbances.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
- Enforce access control measures, including verifying credentials and issuing visitor passes.
- Always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing the organization.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of one year of experience as a Security Officer is strongly preferred.
- Must have a valid Class ‘D’ Security Officer License.
- The position may require proficiency in either English, Spanish, or both languages, depending on the contractual agreement associated with the designated job site.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, including radio communication.
- Must have a professional appearance by adhering to grooming standards.
- Able to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and overnight if required.
- Reliability and punctuality in attending work.
- Must pass a pre-employment screening including Level-2 Background Check and drug test.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to patrol the properties and access areas quickly.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Physically able to walk the entire properties.
- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
- Ability to lift objects up to 30 lbs.
- Some Security Guard positions may require the ability to drive a vehicle and possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
