Description

Job Summary: Responsible for the safe and timely transportation of HVAC equipment, components, and materials between manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and customer sites. Ensures compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards while maintaining vehicle integrity and load security.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Operate Class A CDL semi-trucks to transport HVAC units and materials
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate driver logs
  • Load and unload HVAC equipment using forklifts or other machinery
  • Secure cargo to prevent damage during transit
  • Deliver products to job sites, distribution centers, or clients as scheduled
  • Communicate with dispatch and warehouse teams regarding delivery status
  • Assist with general yard or shop duties when not driving
  • Maintain cleanliness and routine servicing of assigned vehicle

Essential Activities:

  • Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment -- Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts and passenger vehicles.
  • Documenting/Recording Information -- Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.
  • Repairing and Maintaining Mechanical Equipment -- Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical (not electronic) principles.
  • Handling and Moving Objects -- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
  • Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material -- Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates -- Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience driving semi-trucks
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass DOT drug screening and physical
  • Experience with HVAC equipment or heavy machinery preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
  • Forklift certification is a plus

  • Visual, auditory, and driving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively

Work Environment:

  • Frequent travel is required, including long-haul trips.
