About the Position
The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reviewing financial statements using accounting principles and supervising staff to ensure that customers are billed correctly and Canadian accounting policies are being adhered to. The Senior Accountant must have Canadian Accounting and Canadian Tax Accounting experience. This is an opportunity to make a difference and have an impact on a growing company.

Work Schedule - Traditional hours M-F; 2 days in office and 3 days work from home if the candidate is local to Chattanooga, TN or Dallas, TX area. Willing to consider fully remote for those not in mentioned surrounding areas.

Functions
• Responsible for coordinating monthly close process for multiple locations/departments and multiple site/department accounting personnel
• Oversees accounting operations or complex segments of the accounting function based on specific LLC
• Review financial data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
• Preparation of complex customer invoices in accordance with customer contracts
• Reconcile general ledger activity to customer billing for more complex accounts
• General ledger balance sheet reconciliations utilizing Blackline Accounting software
• Responsible for monitoring and managing all aspects of the general ledger
• Prepare and key journal entries
• Coordinates the preparation of operating budgets by working with the Controller, General Manager, and Vice President
• Communicates with site accounting personnel and Vice Presidents on a regular basis
• Responsible for monthly analytics of site information
• Monitors and assists site/department personnel with usage of financials systems and processes
• Manages site accounting personnel and/or Accountants within the Finance department
• Provide support as a resource to Accounting Assistant I & II and Accountant I & II when troubleshooting work
• May provide training or coaching on processes to Accounting Assistant I & II and Accountant I & II
• Provide backup support to Accounting Manager and other team members as needed
• Coordinates accounting matters with other departments

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. / B.S.) in Accounting or Finance required
• MBA or CPA preferred
• 4-6 years of experience in corporate finance or accounting with prior experience in a leadership role preferred
• Experience with Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Expertise in Excel
• Proficient in use of accounting systems, Great Plains a plus

Travel Requirements
