The Role You Could Play
Working as part of our collaborative Finance team and reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, this is an 18-month fixed term opportunity for a Senior Accounts Payable Officer to play a critical role in ensuring the smooth, accurate and timely delivery of MECCA's international accounts payable operations. You'll take ownership of complex reconciliations, support key stakeholders across the business, and provide guidance within the AP team, contributing to strong financial outcomes for MECCA Brands.
Key responsibilities include:
Owning key month-end balance sheet reconciliations, including goods in transit, stock over/unders and brand claim receivables
Ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, purchase orders, brand claims, rebates and ad hoc credits
Preparing month-end journals and adjustments, including FX gains/losses, stock discrepancies and write-offs
Maintaining strong supplier and brand relationships, including managing the trade payables mailbox
Performing supplier statement reconciliations and supporting cash flow forecasting activities
Supporting cross-functional collaboration on finance systems, including data checks and testing activities
Driving continuous improvement across accounts payable processes, controls and reporting
What You Will Bring
You're an experienced and detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys working with complexity and scale.
You'll bring:
5+ years' experience in a senior accounts payable role, ideally within a retail environment
Strong understanding of foreign currency transactions and FX impacts
Previous experience supporting an ERP transition would be beneficial, particularly involvement in UAT testing
Strong balance sheet reconciliation experience and a high level of attention to detail
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capability
Confidence working with large financial systems and high transaction volumes
A proactive mindset, strong communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines
