ITnova is seeking an experienced Senior Airport IT Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of airport technology operations, infrastructure, and systems integration. The ideal candidate will have direct, hands-on experience supporting airport systems, strong technical knowledge, and the leadership skills to manage projects, teams, and vendors in a mission-critical environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily IT operations and ensure continuous availability of airport technology systems.
- Manage infrastructure across servers, networks, storage, cloud environments, and end-user systems.
- Oversee and support airport-specific systems such as FIDS, BHS, AODB, CUPPS, CUTE, CCTV, Access Control, Wi-Fi, and VoIP.
- Collaborate with airport operations, engineering, and security teams to align IT initiatives with airport needs.
- Ensure compliance with FAA, TSA, and airport cybersecurity and operational standards.
- Manage IT staff, contractors, and service providers.
- Develop and implement IT policies, cybersecurity procedures, and disaster recovery plans specific to airport environments.
- Monitor vendor performance, manage contracts, and enforce SLAs.
- Prepare and manage IT budgets, performance reports, and metrics.
- Stay current with emerging airport technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT experience, including 5+ years in a leadership or management role.
- Direct experience working with airport IT systems or within an airport environment is required.
- Strong technical background in infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity.
- Hands-on experience with airport systems (FIDS, BHS, AODB, Access Control, CUPPS, CUTE).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, projects, and multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting or managing IT operations for major U.S. airports (e.g., PANYNJ, MWAA, MAA, PHL, or similar).
- Knowledge of NIST, ISO, FAA, and other airport technology compliance frameworks.
- Master’s degree in IT, Business, or Technology Management.
- Professional certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CISSP, or cloud certifications (AWS, Azure).
- Experience leading modernization, digital transformation, or smart airport initiatives.
