Job Summary:

We are seeking a financial analyst to work hand in hand with other team members to deliver thoughtful, detail-oriented, best-in-class service to our client. The candidate will be responsible for providing timely, accurate, and actionable information for analysis in support of the Asset Management platform across multiple capital structures (debt and equity) and multiple property types (office, retail, industrial, multifamily, student-housing, hospitality). This role includes interfacing with borrowers, equity partners and client representatives. The ideal candidate will work effectively in a collaborative environment, possess the drive to take the the initiative, work independently, and must be willing to ask questions whenever certain concepts and/or assignments are not understood.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain complex cash flow projection models and quarterly/annual valuation models
  • Review proposed distributions and confirm correct application in accordance with equity capital/waterfalls
  • Coordinate and review debt and equity funding requests in a timely and thorough manner
  • Compile quantitative analysis of budgeted, actual, and projected cash flows
  • Complete various ad hoc financial analysis and data requests in a timely manner when requested
  • Monitor and review progress of business plans and capital budgets
  • Complete review and analysis of proposed office and retail leases
  • Complete market research for sale comparables and market assumptions for valuation purposes
  • Monitor covenant compliance per loan/partnership documents
  • Coordinate receipt and review of monthly financial statements
  • Coordinate receipt and review of annual operating and capital budgets
  • With support of internal insurance associate, monitor insurance coverage and escrow requirements
  • With support of internal tax associate, verify tax payments and escrow requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-2+ years relevant work experience
  • Desire to succeed in a team-structured, fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in real estate, finance or accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • An understanding of commercial real estate transactions and industry terms
  • An understanding of commercial real estate valuation principles and concepts
  • An understanding of real estate property types and related lease types
  • The ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical / mathematical skills
  • Strong written / oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Argus Enterprise
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook
