Senior Avaya Voice Systems Design Specialist

As a Senior Avaya Voice Systems Design Specialist within the Communications and Voice organization, you will be instrumental in building world-class voice capabilities throughout a global enterprise. This exciting role involves managing voice products and components viability throughout their lifecycle, providing technical support for voice delivery systems, and resolving complex issues using appropriate troubleshooting techniques.

The candidate should possess knowledge of various telephony/voice systems including Avaya technologies, network routing experience, and strong analytical skills. The ideal candidate will enjoy challenges, problem solving and collaboration with others in support of an enterprise voice product.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform product and component management to ensure technical viability and cost-effectiveness from the point where it is evaluated through implementation and support, to retirement

  • Use technical expertise to help business partners and others by answering technical questions regarding the usage, troubleshooting and functionality of delivery systems products to ensure effective implementation and usage of delivery system products

  • Apply knowledge of computing systems to choose appropriate troubleshooting techniques to resolve complex, escalated delivery systems problems

  • Work with appropriate product supplier for enhancements and issues not resolved in-house

  • Choose appropriate computing products and methods to ensure requirements are met for security, problem management, capacity/performance management and operational management

  • Document resolutions/analyses according to support procedures

  • Design and document call flows, dial plans, and trunk configurations

  • Execute implementation plans, cutover strategies, and migration roadmaps

  • Configure, integrate, and support endpoints, phones, gateways, media servers, and messaging system

  • Work directly with customers to gather requirements, provide technical leadership, and deliver solutions on time

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience on the Avaya Aura systems in a medium-to-large enterprise environment

  • 5+ years of experience with telephony systems and technologies such as SIP, VoIP, Trunking (PRI/SIP), Analog, Voicemail/Messaging, etc.

  • 3+ years of experience with network protocols and/or routing table definition

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work or military experience

  • Active United States Security Clearance

  • Current Avaya Certified Support Specialist (ACSS) or Avaya Certified Implementation Specialist (ACIS)

  • Experience with classified telephones (e.g. CNSS TSG, NTSWG).

  • Experience with Avaya Call Center/Elite

  • Experience with Cisco infrastructure

  • Experience with project management

  • Experience with leading and working with cross-functional teams and collaborate with different departments and vendors

  • Experience with working independently to solve challenging problems

Summary pay range: $120,700 – $163,300
