Job Description
Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA), an engineering consulting firm dedicated to supporting the reliable operation of power facilities. SIA is seeking a Senior Engineer/Consultant for the Vessels & Internals group, to coordinate with experts in the nuclear industry to develop and implement innovative solutions to industry problems and concerns.This role includes engineering contributions toward analyses and assessments to support clients in resolving engineering concerns. Development of the consultant will include activities to diversify client engagement, business development, and project management opportunities.Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage technical projects that offer solutions to industry clients
- Develop new leads and project opportunities with clients
- Develop engineering assessments to resolve issues for utility clients.
- Contribute to proposals for project development and scoping.
- Understand engineering approaches from colleagues and experts.
- Support emergency client work, especially for outages and maintenance periods.
- Degree in Materials Engineering and/or Mechanical Engineering. Advanced degree is a plus.
- Utility experience is a plus, specifically EPRI BWRVIP, MRP, WRTC, NDE, or other industry programs.
- 5-10 years of experience in any of the following fields:
- Design Engineering (Construction Codes: ASME Section III Code - Stress and Fatigue Analysis, ASME Section VIII, B31.1). ASME Section XI knowledge is a must including Appendix Q.
- Programs Engineering including Inservice Inspection, Nondestructive Examination, Welding, Repair (Structural Weld Overlays), and License Renewal.
- Code Committees (ASME, ASTM). Active Code Committee membership and engagement is a plus.
- Experience with the Domestic US Commercial Nuclear Fleet Reactor Design & Materials is a plus.
- Experience with NRC regulations and business protocol
- Willingness to travel up to 15% to support clients and business needs.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including presentations are a must.
- Proactively (early and often) communicate project status (including schedule, budget, resourcing, and deliverables) to management.
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) capability
- PE is desired
- Curiosity to learn new technology and analytical approaches.
- PMP (and other) project management certification.
- Familiarity with material degradation and failure modes.
- Strong self-organization tendencies and ability to adapt to changing scenarios.
- Ability to review, critique, and improve the written output of other engineers.
