How You'll Contribute to Our Success

As the Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will be a critical asset in driving our IT and operational technology (OT) success. With your deep expertise in network infrastructure management, security principles, and industrial systems integration, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless and secure operation of our Cedar Rapids plant and remote sites. Your strong analytical problem-solving skills, coupled with your meticulous documentation practices, will enable you to quickly identify and resolve complex technical issues, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.

What You'll Do as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer

• Network Infrastructure Management:

• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Fortinet switches, firewalls, and Wi-Fi systems; manage VPN, DNS, DHCP, DMZ, WAN, routing, and switching operations

• Security Administration:

• Apply network policies, access controls, and security measures; analyze traffic patterns, resolve bottlenecks, and improve network efficiency

• Server & Virtualization Management:

• Administer Windows Server environments, Active Directory, file shares, and Group Policy; manage Hyper-V virtualization environments

• Storage & Backup Operations:

• Configure and maintain enterprise storage systems (Pure, IBM, etc.); administer backup solutions such as Veeam Backup & Replication

• Applications & Database Support:

• Support business-critical applications and manage Microsoft SQL Server instances

• System Monitoring & Maintenance:

• Maintain monitoring tools (SolarWinds HCO); execute patch management for servers and network devices

• Industrial Systems Integration:

• Support PLCs, SCADA, and IoT systems integration; ensure network connectivity, security, and seamless deployment of manufacturing systems

• On-site Technical Support:

• Provide end-user support for connectivity, applications, and devices; assist with workstation and laptop deployments; collaborate with IT support for incident resolution

• Maintain comprehensive network documentation and coordinate effectively with vendors

• Other duties as assigned

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in network infrastructure management, ideally with Fortinet technologies
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, security principles, and advanced troubleshooting methodologies
• Proven experience with industrial systems integration including PLCs, SCADA, and IoT systems
• Proficiency in Windows Server administration, Hyper-V virtualization, enterprise storage systems, and Microsoft SQL Server
• Demonstrated skills in system monitoring tools and patch management processes
• Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and meticulous documentation practices
• Willingness and ability to work on-site at our Cedar Rapids plant location
• Ability to travel 20% of the time within the North America region to our remote sites

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree is a plus
• Experience working within a manufacturing organization is preferred
