Position Overview:

Marmon Global Innovation Center (GIC), a division of Marmon Holdings, is seeking a Senior lead engineer to guide junior engineers and drive long-term projects for Coilmaster Corporation, a leading Marmon company specializing in fin and tube heat exchangers. This senior role is responsible for end-to-end software development of Coilmaster's EzCoil coil selection and thermal-fluid modelling platform. The Sr. lead engineer will leverage their domain expertise in thermal-fluid sciences and experience in software engineering to architect, develop, and validate models while ensuring reliable and efficient implementation in code.

As a hands-on leader, you will directly contribute to software development and testing while also mentoring junior Marmon GIC engineers. Strong project management and scheduling skills are required to coordinate deliverables across multiple initiatives.

Key Responsibilities / Functions:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop junior Marmon GIC engineers.
  • Drive end-to-end development of equipment selection and simulation software, from feature design to deployment.
  • Apply modern programming practices (e.g., Git, unit testing, code reviews, CI/CD).
  • Validate thermal-fluid models and formulas for accuracy and compliance (ASHRAE, AHRI, etc.).
  • Manage project schedules, track milestones, and coordinate deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Coilmaster's engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams to align output with business needs, functionality of new features and thoroughly test buy fixes.
  • Contributing to the business through innovative ideas and through generating IP for the organization
  • Verify and validate the physical models within EzCoil software, ensuring accurate and reliable outputs.
  • Validate mathematical thermal-fluid models and ensure correct implementation of formulas within the coil selection software.
  • Continuously improve the software testing process and enhance the reliability of thermal-fluid models.
  • On-time project delivery while upholding utmost technical standards and quality standards for the deliveries within agreed budgets will be the key metrics of performance measurement

Required Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge)

  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field with strong thermal background.
  • Proficient in designing models in any 3D design software (Preferably in Inventor)
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, refrigeration cycles, and HVAC principles.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., MATLAB, Python, Fortran, VB, C#, C++).
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to validate engineering equations for heat exchangers and related thermal-fluid systems.
  • Hands-on experience in software testing, debugging, and model validation.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly describe technical contributions to cross-functional teams.

Nice to have Requirements:

  • AHRI Certification
