Job Description
Cytokinetics is a late-stage, specialty cardiovascular biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing first-in-class muscle activators and next-in-class muscle inhibitors as potential treatments for debilitating diseases in which cardiac muscle performance is compromised. As a leader in muscle biology and the mechanics of muscle performance, the company is developing small molecule drug candidates specifically engineered to impact myocardial muscle function and contractility.
Cytokinetics continues to mature its Cybersecurity Program including its policies, procedures, controls, guidelines, and technologies. This role is responsible for performing the day-to-day oversight, implementation, and operations of technical platforms that support the broader Cybersecurity Program. This individual should have a firm understanding of key technologies and features (e.g., authentication and access management platforms, multi-factor authentication technologies, end-point detection and remediation tools, OS and application hardening, cloud computing infrastructures, vulnerability and patch management, etc.).
This role is located in Cytokinetics’ South San Francisco headquarters.
Responsibilities:
Manage the security of cloud infrastructure environments (AWS, Azure) through continuous monitoring and good technical practice adherence
Provide hands-on management of Qualys vulnerability management environment, ensuring sufficient coverage of network-attached devices, timely reporting, and remediation plan ownership
In coordination with other internal and external teams, monitor patch management activities for enterprise systems (e.g., servers, laptops, network devices)
Review and approve all firewall and VPN configuration changes inline with current security requirements and expectations
Oversee and in cases perform system hardening for critical infrastructure platforms (e.g., Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Box, Azure, AWS, etc.)
Develop and maintain a technical security scorecard and report to CISO and IT on a periodic basis
Partner with IT colleagues on technical security measures for enterprise systems.
Responsible for providing investigative support in the event of any cybersecurity event or incident
Support evidence collection for SOX controls and activities
Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience
Must have 5+ years of cybersecurity program participation with a focus on planning, designing, implementing, and managing technical platforms.
Must have firm understanding of NIST framework and supporting procedures and controls.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication including presentation of complex information to the broad company in an easy and consumable format.
Must have strong collaboration skills.
Must be highly organized and curious.
Be a highly collaborative team member with other IT as well as business colleagues to drive down security risk balanced with appropriate risk acceptance and soft-touch education as necessary.

Pay Range:
In the U.S., the hiring pay range for fully qualified candidates is $201,000-$223,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.Our employees come from different backgrounds, and we celebrate those differences.
