SEC Reporting Oversight
Oversee the reporting process for regular SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K), including the drafting of footnote disclosures and management's discussion and analysis, maintaining tie-out binders, and reviewing earnings materials, disclosure checklists, and XBRL tagging, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements.
Manage relationships and workflows with business partners, including external auditors, investor relations, legal, finance, accounting operations, equity administration, and others.
Maintain the financial reporting calendar to ensure all deadlines are met.
Review and support the preparation of earnings materials, including press releases and investor presentations.

Perform research of authoritative guidance and peer company disclosures to support proposed accounting treatment or disclosures.
Drive continuous improvement and automation within the SEC reporting process (e.g., Workiva Wdesk, FloQast).
Manage the quarterly review and external audit processes with our external auditors, including but not limited to PBC request management and fluctuation analysis.
Technical Accounting Leadership
Oversee recurring accounting for complex and high-risk areas, including but not limited to stock-based compensation (ASC 718), intangibles and software capitalization (ASC 350), equity transactions (ASC 505), loss contingencies (ASC 450), leases (ASC 842), and business combinations (ASC 805).
Lead the research and documentation of new and emerging accounting standards and their impact on Udemy's financial statements.
Develop and maintain accounting policies and technical memos that support key judgments and conclusions.
Own and operate key SOX controls related to technical accounting processes and initiatives.
Design and operationalize new processes to address emerging accounting topics and facilitate handoffs to cross-functional partners to ensure accurate prospective operations.
