Senior Premium Administrator
The opportunity:
This position is responsible for the accurate and timely posting of premium received from clients to the Administrative System as well as researching any premium related issues with a client. The Senior Premium Administrator will serve as the lead on any issues, questions, or training needs that may come up during the normal course of business for a Premium Administrator.
How you will contribute:
- Ability to provide one-on-one training and serve as a resource to Premium Administrator
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Proficient in math skills and billing procedures
- Strong computer skills, proficient in a PC environment with MS Word, Excel and e-mail systems
- Ability to work independently, initiate and prioritize regular work duties and small projects
- Ability to multi-task, be detail oriented, organized and exercise good time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work professionally and effectively with co-workers, clients, vendors and others with whom DRMS does business
What you will bring with you:
Minimum 3 years prior insurance billing experience required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Familiarity with insurance concepts preferred
Acts as the lead and works to resolve any issues or questions that arise during the normal course of business for the Premium Administrator
Mentoring and one on one training of Premium Administrator
Post premium payments to the Administrative System in an accurate and timely manner
Analyze the following on a monthly basis:
Due & Unpaid
Actual to Expected (A/E)
Verify New Sales Data with established parameters
Ensure all unapplied cash amounts are resolved with Client
Identify and report premium discrepancies to Underwriting and to the client
Process group terminations
Research premium records for Underwriting and Claims and ensure all items are identified and documented
Escalate any unresolved discrepancies to Senior Manager, Claim Accounting & Premium Services
Coordinate with internal and external auditors to answer audit questions regarding blocks of business
Reconcile premium settlements received from clients to the payments received through our bank accounts
Maintaining and regularly updating departmental documentation, including job aides
Collaborate with Finance to review the financials, as needed
Participate in client implementations and collaborate with other areas of the company to work through the premium process specific for the client
